VacancY has its beginnings in 1997, when four guys from other bands came together to make music.

The strength of the band has always been its members diverse backgrounds and tastes in music. The one thing all those who have called VacancY home share is their love of all things music. With no agenda other than to make great music the band has been known to never be happy with a song and to constantly be improving on what it has done while writing new songs that will no doubt go through the same process. The band feels that a song should never be done and should instead be a ever evolving entity. What this means is at a VacancY show you are just as likely to hear a song written 10 years ago imagined in a different way as you are to hear something they wrote a week earlier and everything in between.

The band has had numerous members over the past decade with founding members DubiouS and EvaD remaining the only constant. The band has had as few as two and as many as five members over its history.

The current VacancY line up consists of Ron Piontkowski on bass and vocals, Rob Hertenstein on guitars, with DubiouS and EvaD contributing vocals, guitars, six string bass, drums, and programming.
